Netflix Announces Lesbian Teen Rom Com

Netflix has announced the production of lesbian teen romantic comedy, called The Half of It, reports Deadline.

The movie will star Charmed actor Leah Lewisas a Chinese-American school student Ellie Chu.

Netflix describes the plot of the movie as: “A shy, introverted, Chinese-American, straight-A student finds herself helping the school jock woo the girl they both secretly love.

“In the process, each teaches the other about the nature of love as they find connection in the most unlikely of places.”

The film is by writer/director Alice Wu, who was behind the 2004 lesbian movie Saving Face.

The movie has been described as “a modern day Cyrano-meets-Pygmalion.”
