New gay BBC drama Mr Loverman release date announced

The BBC has announced the much-awaited premiere date for Mr Loverman, an adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo’s novel, by Nathaniel Price.

According to ‘Rochelle Stevens’, the drama series, consisting of 8 episodes, each 30 minutes long, will debut with two episodes on Monday, October 14th, at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Focusing on the vibrant character, Barrington Jedidiah Walker, a seventy-four-year-old originally from Antigua and now a well-known figure in Hackney, Mr Loverman vividly portrays Evaristo’s pioneering exploration of Britain’s older Caribbean community. It’s a heartwarming narrative about family, love, and being true to oneself.

The cast of Mr Loverman includes Lennie James, Sharon D Clarke, Ariyon Bakare, Tamara Lawrance, Sharlene Whyte, and Tahj Miles.

The series will air on Mondays at 9 p.m., with the final episodes, seven and eight, airing on November 4th.
