North Carolina governor stands firm, vetoes anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-DEI legislation

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein vetoed a series of discriminatory bills targeting the LGBTQ+ community and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The governor condemned the legislation as "mean-spirited," accusing the Republican-led legislature of prioritizing divisive culture wars over critical issues like the state budget.
