One Of Britains First Gay Dads Gets Engaged To Daughter’s Ex-Boyfriend

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow reached fame after becoming one of the U.K.’s first gay fathers to father a child via surrogate with his partner Tony and has now revealed he is engaged to his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, Scott Hutchison.

Last week, Barrie announced to his 37,000 Instagram followers he would now marry the 25-year-old — and he even has his daughter’s blessing.

Barrie posted a video showing the romantic set-up for his proposal on-board a yacht in Croatia.

“Guess what happened last night x,” he captioned a video of the set-up.

Barrie’s daughter Saffron was seen in holiday snaps from the trip and sipping on celebratory drinks with the couple.

She has previously offered her support for her father’s choice of partner, saying she’s “not bothered”.

“Scott is one of my best mates and I am happy that he and daddy can finally feel comfortable enough to talk about their relationship,” she wrote on Instagram last year.

Barrie and Scott are also expecting a child together, via surrogate, with Barrie breaking the news on Instagram last month.

“The most wonderful thing in the world x I’m so excited to meet you baby girl, not long now. Just think, couple more months and you will be a dad for the first time,” he wrote.

Scott appears equally thrilled, telling his followers he will “love this man t’il the day I die”.

“He’s changed me in so many ways and turned me into someone know one will ever understand,” he wrote.
