Robert Biedron, who became the first openly gay mayor of a Polish city in 2014, has presented his five demands for LGBT+ rights, reports Gay Times Magazine.
Standing in front of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw he presented his demands on social media.
The demands include: introduction of civil partnerships, guarantee of marriage equality, protection against hate speech and criminal liability for perpetrators, LGBT+ inclusive education and a gender recognition act.
“The constitution applies to all citizens and citizens. We are different, but equally important,” he said.
Biedronhas been an ardent LGBT+ activist his entire career, recently starting a new progressive political party ‘Spring’ in February. Supporters of Spring are often seen at rallies brandishing the rainbow flag and EU flag.
