Pride in Education launch new webinars supporting LGBTQIA+ history

In response to the growing need for clarity, confidence and inclusive practice in education, Pride in Education is continuing in its mission to support the education sector through a programme of free professional development webinars for LGBT+ History Month (February 2026) and Trans+ History Week (4-10 May 2026).

While continuing to campaign and advocate for clear, inclusive and evidence-based supportive guidance to protect all LGBTIQA+ young people, Pride in Education is also prioritising practical support for educators to dispel the confusion and anxiety that has surrounded LGBTIQA+ inclusive education in recent years.

Pride in Education will host two free webinars designed to equip teachers with subject-specific and historically grounded approaches to inclusion:

Usualising LGBTQ+ identities in secondary school science and maths

Linked to LGBT+ History Month’s theme of Science and Innovation, this session explores how LGBTIQA+ identities, scientists and lived experiences can be meaningfully embedded into science and maths lessons within secondary schools. It offers practical strategies for making inclusion part of everyday teaching rather than an “add-on”, supporting both curriculum delivery and student wellbeing.

Bringing Trans+ histories to life in your classroom

This webinar focuses on turning Trans+ history into engaging, accessible classroom learning. Educators will explore historical figures, movements and moments, alongside creative and age-appropriate approaches to celebrating Trans+ contributions while addressing challenge and resistance with confidence.

These sessions will support educators to embed LGBTIQA+ experiences meaningfully across the curriculum, moving beyond tokenism and into everyday teaching practice.
