Last Saturday (26th November) myGwork teamed up with Rapport Guest Services to raise money for HIV and AIDS charities across the UK, by taking part in this year’s Red Run. The charity fun run, which has been held annually in November for thirteen years to coincide with Worlds AIDS Day, is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for HIV organizations. Red Run announced that its 2022 event sold out and raised over £235,000.
The Red Run was started by the non-profit organization Positive East, which focuses on improving conditions for those affected by or living with HIV. Public interest has grown rapidly in recent years, seeing food, drinks and entertainment implemented into the event, and even the appearance of Sir Ian McKellen in 2019. Rapport Guest Services first joined the event in 2019 and has since played a huge role in raising awareness for it.

“What an incredible Red Run!” said Rapport’s Emily Abbam. “[It] was amazing to have 30 of our Rapport Ambassadors run/walk this year and collaborate with myGwork to make an even bigger impact. The atmosphere was so positive and the energy was great. It’s wonderful that the event raised over £235,000, with Red Run spaces selling out. Congratulations to everyone that took part. Can’t wait for next year!”
The collaboration between Rapport Guest Services and myGwork saw 30 spaces in the Red Run fully paid for, helping to raise in excess of £235,000. Members of myGwork and Rapport took part in the run, too. Employees at Rapport were keen to share their excitement about the success of the 2022 Red Run, highlighting the importance of the occasion and the personal impact it had on them.
"It was really amazing to participate in the Red Run,” shared Rapport's Pedro. “There was such a great atmosphere. The great part of walking was that I was able to be part of it and also support everyone that was running around me."
Rapport’s Sam Hunt described the emotion felt throughout the run: "What I love most about the Red Run is the positive and supportive vibe the community creates for such an emotional and heavy issue. This event reminds me that there are so many good people in the world, and I get to work with many of them."

Our team at myGwork were thrilled to take part in this fulfilling event, and we are proud to support an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those in need. With HIV and AIDS charities across the UK still needing support, it was incredibly important for us to get involved with an event so closely and historically linked to LGBTQ+ matters. We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who donated and sponsored us at the 2022 Red Run.
The option to donate is still available if you would like to contribute to this incredible cause. If you can help in any way to support or raise awareness for these charities, click here to donate.
