A recent global LGBTQ+ travel safety survey ranked countries like Canada and Spain as some of the safest destinations for LGBTQ+ people, while also highlighting the risks that still exist in other parts of the world.

The 2025 Rainbow Map further revealed the deep divide across Europe: countries such as Malta, Iceland, and Portugal are making progress, while others, including Hungary and Turkey, continue to restrict LGBTQ+ rights and visibility.

What is the myGwork Country Ambassadors Program?

The myGwork Country Ambassadors Program is a global peer-support network connecting LGBTQ+ professionals with local myGwork members in cities across the world. Our Country Ambassadors act as friendly, informed guides, helping newcomers navigate local realities and make meaningful personal and professional connections.

If you're living in a city you love and feel confident navigating it as an LGBTQ+ person – you can be someone’s lifeline. Becoming a Country Ambassador is simple:

2. Edit your profile and opt-in to display yourself as a Country Ambassador
3. LGBTQ+ members relocating or visiting can then easily find and connect with you

Rooted in real experience

The idea for the myGwork Country Ambassadors program, first launched shortly after Covid back in 2021, came from myGwork’s co-founder Adrien Gaubert, who experienced firsthand the isolation of relocating as an LGBTQ+ professional. Moving from Paris to Guangzhou early in his career, he struggled to find others like him – people he could relate to, ask questions, and build connections with.
