Russia takes woman’s kids after accusing her of being trans

In a bizarre series of events the Russian courts have taken away a woman’s children after accusing her of being trans and therefore being in a same-sex relationship. Social services accused Yulia Savinovskikh of undergoing surgeries to become a man and removed her two foster children because of it.

The surgery Savinovskikh got was actually a breast reduction surgery, to make it easier for her to continue having an active lifestyle.

She said to the press this whole situation was “some kind of hellish misunderstanding… I just reduced my breasts. With or without my breasts, I’ll remain a woman, a mother to my children.”

Social services alleged she had the surgeries illegally and therefore self-identified as a male. The motivation they filed in courts stated that “taking into account her marriage with a man, the desire to adopt a social role peculiar to a male – in essence, contradicts the principles of our country’s family law, the traditions and mentality of our society.”

The courts ruled in favour of social services and the children have been taken away. The children had been with the family for three years.
