Khalid has openly discussed his sexuality in a series of posts on X, where the ‘Young Dumb & Broke’ singer identified as gay. He announced the news by posting a rainbow flag with exclamation points and commented,
“There yall go. next topic please lol.”
When a fan inquired about his sexuality, asking if he was “GEHHH,” he confirmed, “I am! And that’s okay.” Khalid, whose full name is Khalid Donnel Robinson, later mentioned he had been outed by someone, though he did not specify who, ‘Today’ reports.
He shared, “I got outted and the world still continues to turn. Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality!” Adding, “In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me love yall.”
Khalid continued to engage with fans online following his announcement. One user pointed out, "The closet was glass baby. but we accept you. its not about who you love its about your artistry!” Khalid replied, “I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business.”
A commenter noted that Khalid may have hinted at his sexuality with his 2022 release ‘Satellite,’ which is regarded as an “LGBTQ anthem.” They stated, “Hate that Khalid was forced out but he wasn’t “hiding” it. He just didn’t need to TELL nobody,” to which Khalid responded, “Thank you!!!! I was never hiding.”
