Star from TV series “Arrow” comes out as non-binary

August 1, 2018

23-year-old Bex Taylor-Klaus – who you might know from Scream, Arrow, and Voltron: Legendary Defender – has come out as non-binary, NewNowNext reports.

“I came out as trans non-binary in a room full of people today. Guess it’s time for me to do that on here, too ...” she wrote on twitter. “Hi. I’m Bex, and the rumors are true. I’m v enby.”

“Enby” is a colloquial term for non-binary, taking the initials N.B.

In 2016, Taylor-Klaus previously came out as gay in a similarly nonchalant way on twitter. Speaking back then about coming out she said she was “terrified, absolutely terrified. Part of why I’m coming out is because there’s so much hate and fear in and around the LGBT community right now and it’s important for us not to halt progress out of fear… [It’s] a scary time, but we need to stand up and say, even if you are afraid, I’m not afraid, or even if I am afraid, I’m strong. I am who I am and you can’t take that away from me.”

LGBT+ activists have praised her coming out, with writer Cameron Glover saying, “as Taylor-Klaus and other celebrities come forward and are candid about who they are, there’s no doubt that their influence can help others live their truth as well.
