The Roseland Multi Academy Trust Students Get a Real-World Look at Business in Action at Imerys

On Monday 16th June 2025, Imerys in the UK (Cornwall) welcomed approximately 30 Business Studies students (year 10, aged 14-15 years) and their teachers from The Roseland Multi Academy Trust for a hands-on industry visit aimed at bringing their classroom learning to life.

The day began at our Par Moor Centre, where we gave a warm welcome and an introduction to Imerys and our operations locally in Cornwall. The students were then split into two groups for a full day of learning and exploration.
One group visited our Par Complex operations team, who provided a fascinating overview of site operations followed by a guided tour. Meanwhile, the second group had interactive presentations on key business functions, including, HR, Finance and Sales & Marketing.

In the afternoon, the groups swapped to ensure every student had a complete experience.

The presentations were aligned with the students' curriculum, helping them see how core business concepts are applied in a real-world industrial environment. It was also a valuable opportunity to educate the students about the diverse career paths and entry points available at Imerys – one of the region’s largest employers.
