Students visit Imerys industry sites

Pleased to be sharing the our video capturing our school engagement with Penrice Academy Year 9 students visit to Imerys industry sites on 6th March 2024. This was part of the schools careers week, were Imerys showcased it industry with a visit to an open cast mine in Mid Cornwall where the students learnt about the mining process from Geologist and Mining Technical Engineers. Followed by a visit to Rocks Drying Plant where they interacted with technical staff from Energy, Engineering, EHS, Science & Technical groups.
We explained about the importance of employability skills, raised awareness around apprenticeships and highlighted careers options / opportunities within the industry.
