Sugababes join Brighton Pride as Sunday headliners
February 18, 2025The Sugababes will join Mariah Carey as headliners for this year’s Brighton Pride festival, organisers have confirmed. The British girl group has been announced as the second headlining act for 2025 and is set to perform on Sunday, August 3, according to ‘BBC’.
This announcement follows the revelation last week that American singer Carey will be the first headliner for the festival, nearly five years after her scheduled appearance in 2020 was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pride on the Park, the current iteration of the annual Brighton festival, will take place in Preston Park on August 2 and 3. A spokesperson for Brighton and Hove Pride expressed they were “over the moon” to have the Sugababes as part of this year's lineup.
The ‘Push the Button’ and ‘About You Now’ performers have achieved six number one singles in the UK since their debut album in 2000, making them the British girl group with the second-most number ones, after the Spice Girls. The group has had various lineups but currently features its original members Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan, and Siobhan Donaghy, who reunited in 2011.
Previous headliners at the festival have included Girls Aloud and Mika in 2024, as well as the Black Eyed Peas and Steps in 2023. Organisers previously reported that approximately 300,000 people attended the Brighton Pride parade in 2024. Pre-sale tickets for Pride on the Park 2025 will be available starting Thursday.
