The colors of the transgender flag: what do they symbolize? 

November is Trans Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the lives and contributions of the transgender community while raising awareness about the challenges they face. It is also a time to reflect upon the history of the community, the people who were lost, and the subsequent steps made to strive towards a better society.

One of the most recognized symbols of the transgender community is the transgender pride flag, designed by Monica Helms in 1999.
