The Favourite Wins Big at the BAFTAS

February 11, 2019

Lesbian comedy drama The Favourite won the most number of awards at Sunday night’s BAFTAs, reports the Guardian.

The film won a total of seven awards, including for Outstanding British Film, best supporting actress for Rachel Weisz and best actress for Olivia Colman.

“The thing I really want to do is Emma and Rachel—I must keep it together—not just for your performances but for what you did after the cameras stopped rolling,” Colman said during her acceptance speech.

“We’ve never talked about this and I find it very emotional but you were the classiest and coolest honour guards any woman could ever have and I love you.

“This isn’t for the lead it’s for A lead and as far as I’m concerned all three of us are the same and should be the lead and it’s weird that we can’t do that. This is for all three of us. It’s got my name on it, but we can scratch in some others names. Thank you so much.”
