To mark National Mentoring Month, myGwork is hosting an event entitled the Importance of Mentoring. The panel, which will be held on the 26th of January, will explore how LGBTQ+ professionals can access and use mentoring programs for personal development.
With themes ranging from listening to how mentees and mentors can work together, to how anyone can be a mentor, attendees can find out how to replicate the successes and learn from the valuable lessons imparted. It's a two-way street – just as the mentee gains skills, support, and guidance on a number of topics, the mentor is developing their skills in leadership and self-confidence, leading to better results for all.
The event is moderated by Tom Gates, Associate, Entertainment and Media at Reed Smith LLP – also the panel’s sponsor.

Experts speaking at the event, include:
Robin Panrucker, Head of Talent Development at Taylor Wessing LLP

Samantha Raoult, Sales Development at Morningstar

Elliot O'Glasser, HR Director at Leica Biosystems at Danaher Corporation

Wesley Trust, Technical Delivery Lead at Capgemini

Nasser Zabbar, Learning and Development Manager at Reed Smith LLP

As part of this panel, we’ll be asking questions around:
- Establishing mentoring schemes.
- Best practices for mentors and mentees.
- How we can use mentoring to embed inclusion in the workplace.
- The benefits of mentoring in talent retention and employee development.
- Finding mentoring schemes.
