The “largest bi+ event in the world” is happening this year. Here’s when and where

The world's “largest bi+ event” is set to return, with organisers poised to set new records once more.

Bi Pride UK has declared its sixth annual bisexual pride celebration, scheduled for August 31 at The University of West London (Ealing Campus). The gathering will feature performances, discussion panels, and various food and shopping booths.

According to ‘Yahoo! Life’, organisers shared that the chosen venue “holds a special connection for the bi+ community,” as it is the alma mater of Freddie Mercury. The selected date also heralds the start of Bi Visibility Month in September, with Bi Visibility Week spanning from September 17 to 23 and culminating with Bi Visibility Day.

“Every year, our Bi Pride event has set a new record, becoming the largest single day bi+ event globally," stated Avi Kay, chair of Bi Pride UK. “We’re thrilled about this year’s event, aiming for it to be our largest and most inclusive and accessible yet.”

Bi Pride UK 2023 saw over 1,300 attendees, making it the “biggest bi+ event ever,” according to organisers at that time. The event featured headliners such as comedian Sophie Duker and drag queen Lilly Snatchdragon, with live streams of both stages to accommodate those who couldn’t attend in person.

Since its inception in 2019, Bi Pride UK has aimed to create environments where individuals attracted beyond gender can visibly celebrate and embrace their identities.

“It’s not sufficient just to be ‘welcome’ at a Pride,” according to their about page. “We represent a significant segment of the GRSD (Gender, Romantic and Sexual Diversity) community – indeed, many statistics suggest we constitute over half of it – and we warrant our own celebration and visibility.”
