Trans Awareness Training to support new Gender Identity Policy

To support the launch of our Gender Identity and Expression Policy, we partnered with the Transgender Equality Network of Ireland (TENI) to deliver a virtual Trans Awareness and Inclusion Training session for all colleagues on Wednesday, July 1.

The session was an important step in reinforcing Gas Networks' commitment to building a workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported; which is turn empowers our people to deliver on our strategic goals.

The hour-long training equiped employees with the knowledge and confidence to foster inclusive, respectful interactions at work, while also helping people better understand and support trans people in our personal lives, including within our families, friendship groups, and wider communities.

During the session, participants explored key topics such as understanding trans identities and the importance of inclusive language, the current legal and policy landscape in Ireland, and practical ways to support colleagues who may be transitioning. The training also focused on how inclusive behaviours can be embedded into everyday workplace practices.
