UK Dating Show Sends Two Bisexual Men to Country Where Homosexuality is Illegal

The Channel 5 dating show Blind Date has come under fire for sending two male contestants to Saint Lucia, a Caribbean country that punishes gay sex with up to ten years in prison, reports the Daily Star.

The two contestants, Jordan Shannon and Jesse Drew, are the first bisexual men to be on the show.

“I didn’t know [about the law] until I was told on the way to the hotel. I thought, ‘What the f**k?’” said Jordan.

“The hotel security woman told me how most gay men were in the closet there as homosexuality is illegal. It’s 10 years in prison if caught.”

“We didn’t know and are taking this up with the production company,” a spokesperson for Channel 5 said.

The production company responsible for the show, So Television, is founded by openly gay TV personality Graham Norton.
