US Preacher Who Called for Death of Gays Banned from Europe

Extreme anti-gay American preacher Steven Anderson has been banned from visiting most of mainland Europe, reports Dutch News.

Anderson is well-known for YouTube videos (which have a large following) and his controversial sermons in which he calls for the death of all gay people.

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death,” Anderson said in one of his videos.

“Their blood shall be upon them. That, my friends, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along.”

After the Pulse gay club massacre in Orlando, Anderson told his congregation: “The good news is that there’s 50 less paedophiles in this world, because, you know, these homosexuals are a bunch of disgusting perverts and paedophiles.”

Officials in the Netherlands have said they have taken steps to make sure Anderson cannot step foot in the Schengen zone, the group of European countries which make up a common travel area for which you only need one visa to visit. The Schengen zone consists of 26 countries and covers most of mainland Europe.

“There is no place in a democratic nation like ours for discrimination, incitement to hatred or intolerance and violence on any grounds,” said Dutch security minister Mark Harbersto the Dutch Parliament on Wednesday.
