Watch: drag queen crashes a same-sex wedding exclaiming “It should have been me!”

A video of a same-sex wedding in Scotland has gone viral over the past week for all the right reasons. When the minister of the ceremony asked guests if anyone had any objections a drag queen burst into the chapel and performed an impassioned lip-sync to “It Should Have Been Me” by Yvonne Fair.

“Cherie Trieffel swept into Saint Luke’s church, stunning the crowd with a rendition of the iconic song, as grooms Peter McConnachie and Peter Deaville waited anxiously at the altar,” Glasgow Live reports.

The drag queen, later revealed to be local star Cherie (the alter-ego of Mark Swift), got busy with several guests as she stumbled her way down the alter, eventually latching onto one of the grooms and attempting to lift up his kilt.

“The grooms organized it without telling anyone that it was happening,” explains wedding guest Graham Cole. “Peter’s M’s mum Glenda actually thought it was real!”
