Watch ENGSO Youth's Interview with Eric Mitchell

ENGSO Youth, for Pride Month, interviewed a number of out sporting professionals about the importance of Pride to them, and equality in the sporting world. Led by Luca Arfini, a young communications professional from Italy who volunteered to conduct the interviews, ENGSO Youth spoke to Eric Mitchell, who is a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), who sits on the Culture and Heritage Committee as well as being an IOC Young Leader. Further, he competes as a ski jumper for Canada.

In his interview, Mitchell is asked about what he thinks is the main challenges LGBT athletes face. Talking about the steps the IOC takes to combat issues like homophobia in sport, he discusses how "[the Olympic resources] center around a couple of ke things: the first is stopping harassment on the field when you see it, the second is educating [...], and the third is to have visible allies."
