Watch The Trailer For Lesbian Rom-Com ‘Happiest Season’ Starring Kristen Stewart

Happiest Season’s trailer is finally here! Directed and co-written by But I'm a Cheerleader's Clea DuVall, the lesbian rom-com stars Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis as Abby and Harper, as the couple prepare for Abby to meet Harper's parents for the first time at their big annual Christmas dinner.

The plot thickens when Abby also plans to propose to her girlfriend during the occasion. The problem is that Harper's family doesn't even know that she is gay, leading Abby to begin to question the girlfriend she thought she knew so well.

“Do you know how painful it's been to watch the person I love hide me?” Abby blurts out to Harper in one of the trailer's more serious moments.

“I am not hiding you, I am hiding me,” she claps back, tears in her eyes.

The film also stars GLOW actress Alison Brie and Harley Quinn star Mary Holland as Harper's sisters, Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza as a mysterious figure from Harper's past and Schitt's Creek's Dan Levy as Abby's trustworthy best friend. Holland co-wrote the script with DuVall, as ‘Digital Spy’ reports.

I think I've wished to see a gay Christmas rom-com my whole life," Stewart previously explained.

“I'm so happy and proud of [writer/director] Clea [DuVall] for bringing this into the world. I love when holiday movie makes you long for an idea of home, but also examines how hilarious and hard reality at home can be sometimes,” she added.

DuVall added: “I'm a huge fan of Christmas movies, but I had never seen my story represented. Happiest Season felt like a great opportunity to tell a universal story from a new perspective.”

Happiest Season premiers on Hulu on November 25. It will be available to rent or buy in the UK the following day.
