It is National Coming Out day on 11th October and West Midlands Trains are working with Network Rail and other industry colleagues on a National Coming out Day campaign which you can find out about here. Also, get to know more about Dan Lill, Senior Conductor, RMT Equality Representative and Chair of Aspect, WMT’s LGBTQ+ network group. Dan tells us how he came out to his mum.

We spoke to Dan Lill about how he came out to his mum, and
he said the following:
“I had a lovely morning with my mum. She was leaving to go
to work as a nurse. I plucked up the courage to tell her that morning and she
smiled and said, ‘it's ok you are still going to be gay when I get home, but
I'm going to be late for my patients if I don’t leave now’. We laughed and
hugged, and I knew I was still as loved as I was before and after coming out.”
Thank you, Dan, for sharing your coming out
story with us.
