Adam Kashmiry: Growing Up Transgender in Egypt

We are delighted to announce that Adam Kashmiry will be our special guest at an event at the Pride House established for the European Championships.

Adam will be interviewed by Paul Skovron, Managing Director and diversity & inclusion specialist from 3In Consulting.

Following a hugely successful run of the play Adam at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival plus sell-out shows in Stirling, Glasgow, Greenock and Brighton, Adam, who portrayed himself in the play, will be sharing his amazing and harrowing personal story with us.

Adam will be talking about his life growing up as a girl in Egypt, the gender dysphoria he suffered as a child and the bullying he encountered whilst living in a country in a culture that doesn’t accept LGBT people.

During the session you’ll hear about Adam’s journey to the UK, his aim to secure asylum, and his transfer to Glasgow. Learn about his desire to live in the UK and undergo gender reassignment to transition to a man and the depths of despair he plummeted into whilst seeking asylum and being in the wrong body.

This is just a small insight into Adam’s amazing and emotional story. On the night Adam will share many more aspects of his very personal journey.

This is an evening you do not want to miss.

Guests are invited to arrive at 6pm and requested to be seated by 6.30 prompt.
