BBC Rethink Festival

Rethink Disability, the BBC's groundbreaking Disability Festival, is back for its second year, and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever!

On Wednesday 4th December, at Media City in Salford, we invite you to be part of a transformative day dedicated to “Reclaiming the Narrative” in news and sports journalism.

This year's festival will spotlight how we can make media more inclusive and representative for everyone. Dive into engaging panels and discussions that address critical themes such as language, representation, reasonable adjustments and accessible technology

Featuring top presenters and contributors we will:

  • Showcase Excellence: by celebrating the achievements of disabled journalists and athletes.
  • Identify Challenges: by discussing the ongoing barriers to full accessibility and inclusion.
  • Promote Solutions: by collaborating on actionable strategies for a more accessible media landscape.
  • Raise Awareness: by highlighting the importance of integrating disabled voices and perspectives into media narratives.

Don't miss this opportunity to contribute to a more inclusive future in news and sports media.

If you are BBC staff join us at Media City in Salford or for non-staff you can still join online and be part of the change on December 4th! Register here!

The BBC Rethink Festival is being organised as part of the International Day of People with Disabilities 2024
