About Beyond The Binary

Beyond the Binary is the first promotional t-shirt brand respecting the LGBTQIA+ community in its supply chain. This fabulous project was created by Anne Laure Pedegert. As the founder of a Bangladeshi buying fashion house, she developed this concept during COVID when she had time to think about what was missing in this industry. During two years, we have developed the perfect t-shirts. Available in recycled fibers or in upcycled fabrics, you can find them in all sizes and colors !

We also searched for the factory we wanted to empower. Managed by a proud trans woman and using a gender diverse workforce, we are happy to have them for this complicated but beautiful journey that is Beyond the Binary.

In the meantime we have been collaborating with ZE Project. All the money we are making is given to this association. ZE Project is a Non-Profit Organization working towards Hijra, Trans, Intersex and gender diverse people professional inclusion in Asia.

Working for Beyond The Binary

At Beyond the Binary, we think that whenever you have a pride message applied on a merchandise, it is pinkwashing. Indeed, Pinkwashing can be defined as the act of taking more time marketing your commitment towards LGBTQIA+ people rather than actually helping them.

For some industries, it is complicated and sometimes even impossible to really avoid it fully. Fashion industry is one of them. Indeed, the global fashion industry is mainly produced in ASIA where most of the countries are LGBTQIA+ PHOBIC. China, Pakistan, India, … And of course Bangladesh. In those regions being out in the streets can lead to a lot of consequences. So we decided to make this pinkwashing worth it. To reallocate this money to people from the local community. To empower them.
