The fourth event of LGBT Foundation's Bi Series will be looking at various aspects of health for bi people. It'll provide an opportunity to find out about sexual health, see which services are available to you, and discover how to get the best access to general healthcare as a bi person.
We're delighted to have the sexual health arm of the foundation with us for the day – you won't get better advice in one place at one time!
Manager of the Pride in Practice programme at the LGBT Foundation, Laurence oversees LGBT Foundation’s a patient standard for achieving excellence in lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) healthcare through working with GP services.
Laurence will be discussing:
Peter is the lead on all things sexual health at LGBT Foundation. Both he and Craig have a great deal of experience regarding sexual health and wellbeing check-ups and will make sure that you are able to be open and honest in a safe environment so that you can receive the best sexual healthcare and advice possible.
Peter and Craig will be running our free rapid HIV tests & sexual wellbeing check-ups, available from 1600 onwards. You'll receive your results on the same day. Tests will be available as a drop in service on the day, but if you definitely want to book an appointment in advance, please get in touch via [email protected] or [email protected]. There are limited spaces available.
Bi Social Space We know how important it is to have people in your life with similar experiences to you and how limited the options are for Bi-specific social gatherings. With that in mind, the Bi Series will be hosting a Bi get-together after Laurence’s talk. Grab a cuppa and a chair, and enjoy some games and chatter in a uniquely bisexual space!
There will also be handouts with information about sexual healthcare and how to access the best services for you.
Our workshops are nonbinary, trans, poly and kink inclusive. Please bring supportive friends or partners, whatever their sexuality. Just make sure they book in advance!
There will be plenty of time during and after this event to meet lots of other bi people and make new friends, so don't worry about turning up on your own - lots of people do and we're all very friendly! If you'd rather meet other people before you go to the building, one of our volunteers will be at Manchester Piccadilly train station to meet people just before the event. We'll email you closer to the time to let you know who, where and when.
The event is from 3-5 PM, 14th October at LGBT Foundation, 5 Richmond St, Manchester M1 3HF.
