Pride in education with the support of Pearson is delighted to offer this  free interactive 60 minute online webinar.  This session aims to foster a deeper understanding of asexuality, a lesser-known sexual orientation which describes individuals with little to no sexual attraction. It is designed to support education practitioners in secondary schools and further education, but everyone working in education is welcome to attend to broaden their understanding. 

In this session, we will explore why it is important to prioritise asexual inclusion in learning settings, learn about the diversity of experiences including intersections with other marginalised groups, and how to create supportive learning environments for asexual students.

This session has been designed for those who work in education and youth sector. This session is ideal for PSHE leads, LGBT+ leads, youth workers, those in EDI roles, governors and those in leadership roles. However this session is open to anyone interested in asexual inclusion for young people including exam boards, policymakers, mental health professionals, sex educators, those who work in LGBT+ charities, allies, etc.

Participants attending will be signposted to relevant resources to support their asexual inclusion work.

Aims:

• To raise awareness and understanding of asexual identities, highlighting their unique experiences in an intersectional context.
• To empower participants with practical strategies for embedding asexuality into PSHE and usualising asexual perspectives lives in the curriculum.
  
• To highlight the discrimination asexual students can face, how it can impact them and how to create inclusive learning environments for them.
  

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

• Define what asexuality is and be aware of different lived experiences, including intersections with other marginalised identities.
• Identify practical steps to integrate asexuality into PSHE and within different subjects.
• Develop effective strategies that address discrimination faced by asexual individuals and actively create inclusive learning environments for them.
