EnGendering Change 2018

EnGendering Change will provide a unique opportunity for ‭educators to reflect professionally, academically and personally ‭on issues around identity, gender and sexuality, particularly with ‭regard to supporting trans pupils, meeting the needs of girls and ‭boys, avoiding heteronormativity, helping LGBT pupils and staff ‭to flourish and much more.

During the day there will be two Keynote Sessions with speakers including Reverend Richard Coles, who will be talking around the themes of LGBT, diversity and inclusion plus possibly mentioning Strictly Come Dancing; Juno Dawson who will speak about safeguarding trans pupils, Rebecca Stinson from Stonewall, Martin Daubney who will be presenting a 'manifesto for boys' and Jennifer Nadel who will be presenting a 'manifesto for girls'.

Two workshop sessions will give you the opportunity to explore subject areas in more depth. Workshops will be running on: The Pros and Cons of Medical Intervention for Trans Children; Setting up a School Pride Society; Engaging Boys: Disrupting Gender Stereotype; Being an 'Out' Teacher; The 'Good Sex' Project: Talking to Girls About Pleasure; Queerying Gender: Engaging with non-binary and gender queer young people.
