Basketball team in Madrid

"I'm a 34-year-old center of the NBA. I am black. And I'm gay. " 

That's how Jason Collins became the first athlete in NBA history to openly acknowledge his homosexuality. It was in 2014 and it reminded us why, since 2002, we exist.

We are an LGTBI + basketball team made up of gay men from different countries who love basketball. Many of us started to play like benjamines and we were reluctant to leave the courts, to compete in the Madrid league and in international tournaments, to train weekly, to create that team atmosphere that makes us a pineapple of friends.

Other players, without experience but with a huge desire, have been included in the team and today enjoy a great level and do not stop learning. You know, the basketball hooks.

In the Daoíz and Velarde pavilion, in the Retiro district, we have our headquarters. There we have created a space free of homophobia, machismo, prejudice, inclusive and welcoming. Therefore, it is a safety space for sports with intensity and companionship.
