Based on the inspirational true story, Pride depicts a group of UK activists who work to help miners during their lengthy strike of National Union of Mineworkers in 1984. Pride premiered at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, where it received a standing ovation and won the Queer Palm award. It was also the winner of Best British Independent Film, Best Supporting Actress for Imelda Staunton and Best Supporting Actor for Andrew Scott, at the 2014 British Independent Film Awards.
Pride received a Golden Globe nominee (2015) for Best Motion Picture. It was nominated for three BAFTA awards including Outstanding British Film and Best Supporting Actress and won for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
There is no cost to attend the screening, and friends and family are welcome to attend with you but we kindly ask that you book your place.
