In celebration of LGBT History Month's theme of “When We Were Young”, LGBTI networking organisations, Out in Edinburgh and SWAN LGBT Networking are joining forces with the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority)'s LGBT network group Inside Out to host an event on Thursday 15th February.

We'll be reflecting on thirty years since Section 28/Section 2 and nearly 40 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Scotland. It's all too easy to forget how unpleasant the atmosphere was for LGBT people. For the younger generation it can be hard to believe just how it was back then. We've got speakers from Scottish Trans Alliance and Our Story Scotland, amongst others. Come and listen to their reminiscences, take part in the question and answer session and enjoy networking in a safe and inclusive environment with drinks and light snacks available.

Out in Edinburgh

We're a LGBT network of networks and individuals for Edinburgh and the surrounding area. We hold bi-monthly events offering an opportunity in an informal, professional environment to meet and discuss a wide range of topics. We explore what it is like being LGBTI in various different industries, in life and open up wider conversations and discussions. Our most recent event was App Culture, being LGBTI in the digital age.
