A live panel discussion by We Create Space with four Queer Leaders. Each will be sharing their stories and unique lived experience through the lens of their different LGBTQ+ intersecting identities. Be prepared to gain some insight and perspective as well as some practical advice around creating more inclusive cultures in the workplace.

Sonny Thaker (he/him)
Host
Sonny is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. He has also trained with Landmark Worldwide and studied personal development for over two and a half decades. Sonny uses science and Positive Psychology to unlock the best in people. He is currently taking his MSc in Applied Psychology in Fashion at London College of Fashion.

Eva Echo (she/they)
Guest Speaker
Eva is a trans woman based in Birmingham, UK. She is a writer, activist and currently a brand ambassador for the London Transgender clinic, a spokesperson for Gendered Intelligence, and founder of the #PassItOn campaign that encourages conversation around trans and non-binary people’s image standards. She also sits on the Crown Prosecution Service’s hate crime panel for England and Wales and is Head of Communications & Engagement for Birmingham Pride.

Erica Rose (she/her)

Erica is the International QEHS Director for the The Body Shop, with over 25 Years’ experience in the Quality sector within the global toiletries & cosmetics industry and more recently adopted Health & Safety within her responsibilities. Erica is passionately in support of equity, diversity and inclusion, people development, empowerment and being able to bring your full self to work. She co-founded and is Co-chair of The Body Shop LGBTQ+ global employee network, she lead the organisation of The Body Shop’s first Brighton Pride Parade and was The Body Shop UK Pride activation spokesperson in 2021, helping to raise the challenges of self-love within the LGBTQ+ community. She has been instrumental in The Body Shop’s partnership with MindOut, the LGBTQ+ Mental Health Charity. Erica continues to be an advocate for the support of Gender equality, Mental Health and Menopause in the workplace.

Geffrye Parsons (he/him)

Geff has over a quarter of a century of experience in investment banking, based variously in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Amsterdam. He joined Macquarie in 2013 as a Managing Director in the EMEA region, and now focuses on structured risk mitigation and distribution, and key change management projects. Geff has also chaired the Macquarie Pride (LGBTQ+) employee network group for almost eight years. Geff’s passion for promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality has resulted in global recognition, including winning the award for ‘LGBT+ Inspirational Leader’ at the British LGBT Awards in May 2019. Outside work, Geff acts as trustee for two UK-based LGBTQ+ charities: GiveOut and Diversity Role Models. He is also a frequent speaker and writer on D&I-related matters, and plans to devote most of his time and energy to that after his retirement from the banking world at the end of February 2022. Geff loves to travel and compete in tennis tournaments with his husband, Kevin.
