About Queer Open Mic

Come celebrate the magic of poetry and queerness! Read your own or someone else's poetry or story (with credit given) , or just come soak it in and listen. This is an all-ages expression of queer emotion.

Queer folks, allies, and open hearts are welcome to come listen as we share our uniquely queer experiences. We ask that you come to listen, not to judge, and to ask individual performers blessings before you offer your thoughts or critiques. Even in poetry, consent is key.

This event occurs every last Sunday of the month from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Under the Umbrella Bookstore. Doors open at 4 p.m. and poetry will begin at 4:30 p.m.

This venue is wheelchair accessible. ASL interpretation is also provided, and we are happy to provide other accommodations as needed.

Cost

This event is free and open to all, with a sliding scale donation option to help put on this event regularly. Events like these take lots of work and time, so any funding is helpful to ensure the event's accessiblity.

COVID policy

Masks are required in store, but may be taken off during performing at the reader's discretion. Air purifiers are running in the store at all times.
