Day Festival is on August 26 from 12 noon to 6pm

Silicon Valley Pride LGBTQ Parade and Festival promises to be like none other in all of Northern California because we start off with a Trans and Friends Rally follow by a Night Festival. For the first time, we will start the festival with a Transgender and Non-Binary focus rally. This event, which has been added to our other Silicon Valley Pride kickoff activities on Aug 25th and is free of charge. The rally will be held at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez with doors opening at 4:30pm. Speakers and performers will take the stage at 5pm. While this event is open to everyone, it is uniquely focused on the transgender and gender non-binary members of our community as well as their allies and friends. Please come join us as we celebrate our Transgender and Non-Binary community.

Also for the 3rd time in 43 years, we are holding an evening festival that runs into the darkness of night. The night festival features some of the most chart topping Bay Area DJ talents in the business. Fantasy theme night-fest opens to the public Saturday, August 25th at 6:00 p.m. and lasts until 11:00 p.m. There will be four worlds that will be feature at the night festival: Under the Sea, Enchanted Forest, Good vs Evil (Heaven and Hell), and Space Odyssey including body painters.

We start up again on Sunday morning August 26th at 10:00 a.m. with our parade along Market Street from Julian Street and ends at the main entrance of the festival. Festival grounds open once again after the parade ends to the excitement of dance performers, talented local artists and the music of live bands. The festival features : Family Garden (Kid Area with San Jose Public Library Space Bus and Children Discovery Museum), Hey Girl area (area celebrating our queer women community), High-tech and VR pavilion (Video Games, Virtual Reality (VR), and other High-Tech Products), LeatherLand, Cocktail Lounge (hard alcohol, wine and craft beer area), and array of vendor including food trucks and many more. Silicon Valley Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. It all started back in 1975 as a gay rights rally and evolved into San Jose Pride Festival in 1976. The following year, 1977 San Jose added its first parade to the celebration. In 2014 San Jose Pride was changed to Silicon Valley Pride to include neighboring cities to encourage unity. It is now the largest Pride celebration of the South Bay and is a family friendly event. That is 44 years of honoring and celebrating our rights to choose whom we love and spend our lives with! The LGBTQ+ movement has been built on the backs of people who have fought hard for equality and progression. We choose to honor those individuals and those whom we’ve lost. It is important, now more than ever, to make our voices heard and to celebrate our diversity! We will not be pushed aside and we will not be erased!
