LGBTQ+ peope face all the same challenges heterosexual people face, with added pressures of dealing with identity confusion, social stigmas, and fear of not being accepted in life and in their workplace. It is imperative to be informed of the LGBTQ+ perspective, and LGBTQ+ employees or job searchers need to be informed on how to handle the "outside" world.

Being aware of the unique challenges presented to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) population can improve the quality of life for all involved. For LGBTQ+ individuals, career preparation can easily be THE most important step in their overall career development. This workshop is an opportunity for everyone to be informed about the workplace, the unique difficulties LGBTQ+ may encounter, and the laws or policies that could protect them from discrimination.
