TUC Northern region has a programme of equalities events, meetings and workshops planned for trade union members, officers and reps throughout the year.

It is a TUC regional and national priority to highlight discrimination faced by LGBT people within and outside the workplace and work across our movement to demand the changes needed. As part of LGBT History Month the TUC Northern LGBT will be having a round table discussion with Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah hosted by UNISON.

The Meeting will take place at 5pm on Saturday the 24th of February at UNISON Northern Region Office, 140-150 Pilgrim St, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE1 6TH

The focus of the round table will be to discuss the progress of LGBT rights, current issues impacting the LGBT community and how MPs and Trade Union activists can work together to effect change.

The meeting is open to all LGBT members of TUC affiliated Trade Unions.
