Leveraging your skills and experience to help build the (LGBTQ+ inclusive) leaders of tomorrow.

This virtual workshop, conducted via Zoom, aims to equip potential mentors with the knowledge and tools needed to help mentee talent progress in their career or objectives, by providing guidance and support to mentees as the potential inclusive leaders of the future.

The workshop will cover:

• the WHAT:

o What mentoring is

o How mentoring differs from coaching

• the WHY

o The purposes and benefits of mentoring

• The HOW

o Critical questions to be asked by a mentor

o Key qualities of a good mentor

o Key mentorship ingredients

o Best practice tips for mentors

The workshop will:

• contain two breakout room discussions, in which participants address, and their report back their thoughts to the wider group:
  
  1. What are the benefits of mentoring to (a) the mentee and (b) the mentor
  2. What are the key questions a mentor should ask of a mentee

• Include an interactive Q&A session at the end of the workshop; and

• provide an opportunity throughout for participants to network, engage, comment and question via the Zoom chat function

After the workshop, attendees should be better able to understand:

• the rationale behind mentoring
• its value
• what it takes to be a successful mentor, and
• how to execute mentorship in practice
