Rising AI concerns among Gen Z students and graduates highlight importance of early career support 

The majority of students and graduates fear AI could threaten their future employment, raising doubts over the value of traditional university degrees, according to new research. Surveying over 7,000 students across nine countries, the research from student living provider Yugo found that four out of five Gen Zers worry that automation could make human workers redundant. In the UK, nearly a third of entry-level jobs have disappeared since 2022, intensifying competition for graduate roles, as reported by IT Brief.

Despite these challenges, students and graduates are adapting by embracing AI in their studies, using tools to proofread work, boost productivity, and enhance work-life balance, as confirmed by Yugo. Recruitment experts note that those who combine technical skills with creativity, empathy, and resilience are best positioned to thrive in the evolving job market.

Ahead of the event, myGwork is conducting its annual LGBTQ+ Student & Graduate Survey 2025 to capture insights on inclusion, meaningful work, and the impact of anti-DEI sentiment.
