Superdrug's Pride story: Raising awareness and promoting understanding

Superdrug's Pride Network is dedicated to ensuring their LGBTQIA+ colleagues can bring their full selves to work, that they a safe space to voice any concerns and feel supported. The Network also strives to promote a better understanding of LGBTQIA+ inclusion by making LGBTQIA+ experiences more visible in the wider business.

Statement: "We know that staff perform at their best when they feel comfortable bringing their full selves to work – and for our LGBTQIA+ people, that means not having to hide who you are or who you love, while at work. Our Pride Network strives to make sure that LGBTQIA+ policies and practices are in place to promote equality and provide support while raising awareness all year round about issues that have an impact on our LGBTQIA+ colleagues and customers.

In 2023 we joined Stonewall’s Diversity Champion Program and earlier this year we were recognised with a bronze award for the work we do creating a welcoming workplace where LGBTQIA+ employees can bring their full selves to work. Our aim is to continue to make sure we have a workplace culture that is welcoming, diverse and an inclusive space for everyone."

"Like myself, many people from within the LGBTQIA+ community have had to hide their true selves at some point in their lives, whether at school, at home or in the workplace. I’m proud of the work we do to support our colleagues and customers, so that they feel represented, listened to and confident that they can just be themselves. It’s also so important to us as a Network to be active with the community outside of our workplace, which is why we continue to support our local Pride events in Croydon as well as partnering with Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line, where we champion and promote the vital services they provide for our community."
