Adaptive was founded in 2012, when four industry experts recognized that real-time technology was fundamentally changing the financial, capital, and commodities markets. These systems are demanding to build, and delivering them takes the very best people.

More diversity, better teams
Adaptive takes diversity and inclusion seriously. We recognize that diversity and inclusion have not always been at the top of the agenda in our industry, but this is starting to change. We would like to not only harness this change but drive it forward as an example to others within our industry. We understand that with diversity comes great teams, a happier workforce, and, ultimately, better output for our clients.
To do this, we have formed a Diversity & Inclusion Committee, a group of employees who have volunteered to be involved and who are responsible for identifying ways in which Adaptive can improve in this space and driving those initiatives to fruition. We have also organized our own Diversity & Inclusion Festival, a series of one-hour-long events over a two-week period, covering many important DEI topics, including social mobility, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, gender, ageism, disability, or ethnicity, among many others. Each session is delivered by a highly regarded external speaker who is an expert in their field. We have speakers who have published books and articles, gained PhDs, been featured in documentaries, given TED Talks, and even been nominated for an international peace prize! We have pulled out all the stops to make this festival count so that our employees can take part in a fantastic learning experience, which we hope will allow us to contribute towards creating a truly inclusive workplace and society.
Adaptive's London office has been involved in excellent initiatives over the years that aim to tackle social mobility discrimination: The Switch and upReach are two examples. In these initiatives, Adaptive becomes a partner and provides business mentoring to young people.
Adaptive's Barcelona office is also involved in an exciting project with Migracode Barcelona. Migracode acts as a bridge between the demand for skilled people in the tech sector and people with a migration background who are eager to work in the tech industry. Starting in 2019, some of our colleagues in the Barcelona office are voluntary trainers, teaching and mentoring the students on a regular basis.
