At Canada Life, we provide retirement, investment and protection solutions to individuals, families and businesses. We understand that financial security gives our customers the financial freedom and wellbeing that comes with it. That’s why we work in partnership with financial advisers to help our customers make more of life. And with the backing of a strong global parent, Great-West Lifeco, we can continue to support our customers.
Because that’s who we are. It’s part of our blueprint. In fact, our first customer was also our founder. We opened our first office in Canada in 1847 and we’ve been in the UK since 1903. And in over a century we’ve built a strong and resilient business in the UK.
We’re committed to being a fair and inclusive company where everyone feels they belong, has a voice and an equal opportunity to succeed. We understand that bringing your whole self to work is critical for our customers, colleagues and most importantly our personal success and wellbeing.
One of the ways we promote an inclusive working environment is through our employee networks, we’ve four passionate networks in place, ethnicity, families, LGBTQ+ and gender. We’ve recently introduced a Diversity Advisory Team, a cross organisational group, who have collective responsibility to advance progress, challenge the business and drive change. Our networks are part of this, with an important role in shaping our culture.
We also work closely with experts to create an inclusive workplace for our people. We work with myGwork, Investing in Ethnicity, Progress Together and Working Families and we’re signatories of the Women in Finance Charter, as well as the Halo Code. These memberships support us in building an inclusive culture for our colleagues.
At Canada Life, we believe home working and in-office collaboration creates stronger teams and space to innovate. We’re proud of our approach to hybrid working enabling colleagues to make the most of connecting in the office and the flexibility of home working. We work across five locations, including our London Bishopsgate office. We also have teams based in Bristol, Potters Bar, Isle of Man and Dublin, as well as those working virtually.
We also understand that life can change fast, and we want our benefits to reflect that. That’s why we offer a range of family-friendly benefits that are designed to support you throughout different life stages.
Our culture is incredibly important to us, and our people are at the centre of it. We empower our colleagues to volunteer for causes that they’re passionate about, either as a group or on their own. All our colleagues receive two volunteer days a year, so that they can connect with their community during their working time.
