About Diversity and Ability
Diversity and Ability (D&A) is a multi-award-winning social enterprise led by and for disabled people. We inform and advocate for intersectional neurodiversity and disability inclusion through technology, training and talent.
Through bespoke workshops and training programmes, consultancy, audits, and individualised, one-to-one support, we create positive and lasting culture shifts. D&A informs policy and pioneers projects across the education and workplace sectors, as well as developing training programmes and support for those excluded from these spheres.
With 85% of our team self-identifying as disabled and/or neurodiverse, everything we do is underpinned by a recognition that lived experience brings strength and value to our society. We’re using those lived experiences, alongside our passion and expertise for celebrating diversity and fostering authentic inclusion, to create a world in which everyone can participate and thrive.
Working for Diversity and Ability
What Our Team Says
"I’ve never felt so supported both in a work and personal capacity, I really stand by the fact that D&A will always prioritise their staff’s health and wellbeing above all else.
Personally D&A has given me the opportunity to learn about my own identity as a disabled woman and has enabled me to celebrate who I am rather than seeing myself as a burden, which is something I didn’t think would change, especially not by a workplace. "
"I’m incredibly proud to say I’m part of the D&A family! I’m supported and celebrated by the directors of the organisation, my managers and colleagues alike, in which they have turned into great friends and long-lasting relationships. "
"D&A makes room for my neurodiversity and mental health, celebrating and making the most of my individual working style and needs in a way that I've never experienced in another workplace. Here, I'm able to thrive and I get to do so in the company of some really incredible people."
"Working at D&A is unlike any role I've held previously, particularly when it comes to flexibility and feeling valued. Knowing that I can be completely and utterly transparent about how my various impairments impact me and how that changes day by day has improved my health. D&A actually celebrates my queer pun-loving self, to the point my manager is a better advocate for my work-life balance than I am. "
"I absolutely loved the application and recruitment process. D&A encouraged me to submit my application in whatever medium was best for me, so I produced a mini-podcast. It was my first experience with a recruitment process which allowed me to bring my lived experience to the forefront and truly share who I was."
Diversity & Inclusion
D&A champions and celebrates equitable opportunities, inclusion and diversity. We are a Disability Confident Leader and encourage openness around mental health, hidden and visible barriers. We have built a supportive team that is committed to your wellbeing, progression and development.
Our team is made up of incredibly diverse people, with a host of different skills and experiences. It's this variety that makes us who we are!
We're cultivating an environment where we encourage openness to be ourselves (on the good days and the bad) so we can all truly ‘show up’.
We know that this helps us be ready and able to make an authentic impact. By prioritising our collective and individual wellbeing, we can strengthen our team, thrive as individuals and achieve great things.
