About OUT LGBT Well-being

Founded in 1994, OUT LGBT Well-being is South Africa’s second-oldest LGBT+ organisation and has a proud history of playing a role in significant LGBT+ rights campaigns, major legal victories, and ground-breaking research.

Today we provide stigma-free HIV and other health services to gay, bisexual and MSM (men who have sex with men) communities. We also work to eradicate LGBT+ hate crimes and discrimination while assisting and supporting victims with paralegal advice and referrals.

OUT is registered with the Department of Social Development as a non-profit organisation and is a member of the International Lesbian and Gay Association (ILGA).

OUT aims to enable socially just, inclusive and equitable societies that are free of discrimination and stigma for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender plus (LGBT+) people.

OUT works to secure the empowerment, human rights, access to equitable services and well-being of LGBT+ communities in South Africa, the region and internationally.
