rainbow travel is Austria’s first LGBTQ+ travel agency. Established in 2018 by our founder Alfred Holzknecht, we arrange hotels, packages, cruises and special events (including the hugely successful Winter Pride) for the community and allies with first-hand experience, knowledge and awareness of safe, fun and fulfilling holiday experiences.

Our motto is “Travel safely with pride” and we can guarantee unforgettable experiences in places where you can truly be yourself. We are created by LGBTQ+ people for LGBTQ+ people with over 20 years’ experience in the travel industry, with partnerships with over 50 countries and cater to individuals but also corporate companies, having worked with over 60 to date. We are also an IGLTA (International LGBTQ+ Travel Association) member providing insight, expertise and support to LGBTQ+ travellers around the world.

• End-to-End holiday and retreat planning: we curate incredible LGBTQ+ experiences across the world which are open to anyone to book on with flights, hotels, transfers, meals and entertainment all sorted.
• Tailored holidays and retreats: We also create tailored, bespoke and exclusive LGBTQ+-friendly holiday packages or retreats for individuals, organisations, ERGs, completely customisable leveraging their global network of partners.
• LGBTQ+ Networking Events and retreats: rainbow travel are experts not only in travel but in MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events). rainbow travel can organise events around the world that would fit within the large-scale events that you currently run with the bonus of including a curated holiday/experience.

rainbow travel is small in size but agile and comprehensive in what we deliver. We are created by LGBTQ+ people for LGBTQ+ people so we care deeply in our staff being able to be free of fear to be their authentic selves in the workplace. Our employees come from such diverse backgrounds and lived experiences which enriches the experiences we can offer for our customers.

We are flexible in our approach to work, we have an office but allow our staff to work from anywhere that realistically gets the job done and as long as it is meeting the expectations of our client we are open to flexible and innovative ways of working.

Working for us means being passionate about travel and in particular safe LGBTQ+ travel and experiences, so we are always open to new ideas and keeping on top of developing trends. We attend industry fairs across Europe and are looking at expanding our reach to reach LGBTQ+ people everywhere.
